Frequently asked questions
How does remote vehicle immobilisation work?
The system sends an encrypted signal to the device installed on the vehicle. The engine is blocked at the next ignition (not while driving, for safety reasons). The action is reversible from the dashboard at any time.
Does SOS work without GSM coverage?
The Magellano GPS device uses GSM/4G networks with automatic fallback to 2G/3G. In areas without coverage, the SOS signal is stored and sent as soon as the vehicle returns to network. Satellite solutions are available for remote areas.
Which OBD data is monitored?
Over 40 parameters: DTC fault codes, RPM, speed, engine temperature, tyre pressure, fuel level, battery status, average and instantaneous consumption. Data availability depends on the vehicle model.
How is CO₂ emission calculated?
The calculation is based on actual fuel consumption read from the OBD ECU, multiplied by the emission factor for the fuel type (petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG). Reports are compliant with GHG Protocol standards.
Is it compatible with ERP and transport software?
Yes. Magellano GPS offers documented REST APIs to integrate with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, AS400 and leading TMS platforms. Our technical team supports custom integrations.
